Once again, I teamed up with Hearthhead to take a bit of a deeper look at some of the Knights of the Frozen Throne cards. Playtesting is just beginning, but a number of interesting interactions are already known and the card pools from which random cards are generated are known and can be calculated.
For example, have you ever thought that if you have three Secrets to play with Professor Putricide, you might not be able to play them all, because the Professor puts a copy of one into play before you do? In Standard format, he does that 43% of the time!
How about going defensive with Deathstalker Rexxar? In Standard format, you can pick up a Zombeast with Taunt 58% of the time.
Valeera the Hollow’s Battlecry has often been described as an Ice Block. In many ways it is, but even in Standard, there are 23 cards that can damage a Stealthed Hero! The main ways to actually get a kill are C’Thun or Taunt Warrior Hero Power in Standard and Ragnaros the Firelord in Wild.
Moorabi holds the promise to create a lot of value for Shaman. Alas, copying minions with it is not that easy, as Shaman has access to only nine cards that freeze something – and only one that freezes multiple minions at once!
If you’re looking into resurrecting some minions with Bloodreaver Gul’Dan, there are 25 Demons in Standard format for you to consider, five of which are tokens from other cards. One token you may not have considered: Kabal Demon from Kazakus potion!
Looking at the cards you need to cut if you want to include Prince Keleseth, Paladin and Warlock have the easiest time including it in the deck.
